H22O, a build by Squonk Levenque. Squonk created the Treptower Park and 2304 Rain builds, both now gone. He is known for rain, and H22O contains even more rain.

One arrives at a pair of floating islands in the sky.

A teleporter takes one down to a bleak room, which turns out to be the base of a lighthouse. Outside, unceasing rain falls on a watery landscape. A giant stone man crouches on hands and knees, his head plunged into the sea. A small figure faces him at the end of a pier.

She is in a straitjacket. Her head is shaven, and she stares wild-eyed at the stone giant. Is the whole sim a depiction of her state of mind?

All around are instances of dereliction and decay. A foundered ship. Broken, abandoned vehicles.

Perhaps this was a churchyard, but only the merest vestiges of a building and grave monuments remain.

A poem on the wall of the ruined church.

The lighthouse, its gleaming beacon the only sign of hope.

The lighthouse is a bleak dwelling, but cosy in comparison to the world outside.

An eclectic selection of books, and a picture of the girl with the exophthalmic stare.

I tried to identify the books. Here's the best I can do.
  1. There is something written on the spine, but it is not readable.
  2. Ludwig von Mises, "Socialism".
  3. Blank spine.
  4. Manfredo P. Do Carmo, "Differential Geometry of Curves and Surfaces".
  5. Volume 2 of something.
  6. B.H. Bransden and C.J. Joachain, "Quantum Mechanics".
  7. I can't quite make anything of this one.
  8. Most likely to be Hector Malot's "Sea and Shore" (an English translation of the French original, "Romain Kalbris"). Other candidates are books of the same title and era by Mrs. Catharine A. Warfield (1876) and Martha Baron Le Goddard (1882).
  9. A.M. de Jong "Merijntje Gijzens jeugd en jonge jaren".
  10. A.M. de Jong "Frank van Wezel's roemruchte jaren".
  11. Blank spine.

Upstairs, emptier and colder.

But even here there is a sign of life.

  1. I wonder if there's a way that Serendipity could record Islands In The Stream but as Islands In the Sky.
